I started working in the Law as a Legal Secretary when I left college at the age of 17. I worked in London, and worked in all Legal Departments of a Law Firm, and realised that I wished to pursue a career in Conveyancing. I worked as a Conveyancing Secretary for many years and I qualified as a Licensed Conveyancer in 2005 and continued to work for the same Company as a Licensed Conveyancer, after that time. Unfortunately, in 2008 the company that I was working for was affected by the recession, as were many others, and there was not enough work for me. After a lot of soul searching and trying to get other work, with the support of my family, I decided to start my own business, which I am glad to say has continued to grow from that time.
Lena Martignetti-Clark (Licensed Conveyancer)
I joined Lorraine and the team in 2012. Prior to that I worked in social housing in a number of roles although predominantly specialising in the various Government’s homeownership schemes including shared ownership and right to buy. After completing my practical training, I qualified as a Licensed Conveyancer in 2013.
Kirsty Martin (Licensed Conveyancer)
‘I started doing work experience at Homden Property Lawyers in 2010 whilst I was completing a legal secretary diploma. I enjoyed the role and therefore once I completed the qualification I started working at the Company as an office junior/secretary. Soon after this I started the CLC course and began training to be a Licensed Conveyancer. I qualified in August 2015 and am keen to gain further knowledge and experience with my own case load at Homden Property Lawyers’.
I left School before my 16th Birthday and started a Pitman's Youth Training Scheme. My placement was in a local firm of Solicitors based in Gravesend who shortly after employed me as their Office Junior. I the progressed to a Legal Secretary and now a Personal Assistant. I have worked with Lorraine Homden for many years in different firms of Solicitors and I now work for Lorraine and have a great pleasure in being part of the team in helping the firm thrive.
After working as a surveyor’s assistant in 2013-14, an opportunity arose for me to join the family business. I started working for Homden Property Lawyers in 2014 as an Office Junior. Towards the end of 2014, I started training in accounts and have since become Accounts/Business Manager with a range of responsibilities within the company.
Peter Still (Consultant)
I first qualified as a Legal Executive in 1986 and I then qualified as a Solicitor in 1995. At the time I was working for a large NW Kent Firm of Solicitors and then shortly after qualifying I then worked for a larger Kent based Firm where I became as head of the Residential Conveyancing Department. Due to ill health I formally retired from the Partnership
Although Conveyancing is my main area of expertise, I was often involved with Commercial Property matters acting for a number of Property Developers and private clients with large property portfolios.
I am still a member of the Law Society and the Property Section of the Law Society.
I now carry out some consultancy work which I very much enjoy with Homdens assisting them with the more intricate and complicated transactions.
Conveyancing Assistant/Legal Secretary
I left college at the age of 18 and started working in London as an office junior/shorthand secretary for various firms of Solicitors, progressing to a Legal Secretary. In 2007 I then decided to work nearer home and joined a local firm of Solicitors as a Legal Secretary covering Litigation and Conveyancing. I have recently joined Homden Property Lawyers and am thoroughly enjoying being part of the team.
